Have your say on van parking in Boscombe and Southbourne
I have heard loud and clear from residents in Boscombe who are fed up with the ongoing problem of van dwelling along Boscombe Overcliff Drive and nearby roads.
Time and again, people have raised concerns about vans remaining in the same place for long periods, pressure on parking, waste, antisocial behaviour, and the growing sense that BCP Council has simply dropped the ball. Residents have done the right thing by reporting problems, but too often they feel ignored, fobbed off, or left waiting while nothing meaningful happens.
That is not good enough.
Our public spaces should be safe, well-managed, and available for everyone to use fairly. While everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, that does not excuse a failure to act when there is a persistent problem and when residents’ legitimate concerns are being repeatedly overlooked.
I know just how frustrated many local people are, and I share that frustration. BCP Council needs to get a grip of this issue, respond properly to reports, and take effective action where vehicles are causing a nuisance or being left for long periods.
This survey is about gathering clear evidence from residents: how serious the problem is, what you have experienced, what you have reported, and where the Council has failed to respond effectively. With that evidence, I will be in a stronger position to challenge BCP Council and push for the action that residents deserve.
