The Future of Beaufort Community Centre: Share Your Views
Many people have spoken with me about the closure of Beaufort Community Centre. Let’s bring this much-loved space back into community use.
I want to acknowledge staff who have lost their jobs and everyone who has lost services they rely on.
Behind the scenes, I’m working to secure interim support and get Beaufort reopened as quickly as possible, working closely with local champion Simon Adorian and your new Labour town councillor Patrick Connolly. Here’s the latest:
- There are no plans to sell the site or redevelop it.
- The council intends to reopen and run the centre as soon as possible.
- Stourfield has stepped in to provide childcare.
- The council aims to restore non-childcare services to Beaufort.
- The long-term ambition is to return the centre to community leadership.
This is our chance to restore what we’ve lost and build an even stronger community hub, and to that end, I’d love to know your views so that I can represent you to decision-makers.
Please complete my survey with your ideas for Beaufort’s future. I’ll make sure your priorities are heard as decisions are made.
Please also RSVP for a public meeting I’m organising, and we’ll let you know the details once they’re finalised.
Whether it’s fighting to reopen Beaufort, securing tougher action against reckless parking, or standing up for lollipop people, I’m working to protect the services and places that make our community such a great place to live.
