Your Data & Confidentiality
In most cases, by contacting the Office of Tom Hayes, you agree to have your data stored in relation to your case. If you ask Tom to pursue a matter on your behalf, Tom and his Office will use your information to address the issue you’ve raised. Our staff and volunteers may use this information to find appropriate support and advice for you. In some cases, we may pass your data to other agencies (such as the Department for Work and Pensions or BCP Council) if necessary to pursue the matter. Please note that additional, specific consent may be required to liaise with certain authorities.
If you share any particularly sensitive information, such as health-related details, we may need your explicit consent to store or process it, as required by data protection laws.
Your data will only be retained as long as necessary to resolve your case, after which it will be securely deleted. You also have the right to request access to your data, correct it, or ask for its deletion at any time.
Exceptions to Confidentiality
Your confidentiality is paramount. However, it may be breached without prior consent under these conditions:
- When there is a serious risk to yourself or others.
- When legal obligations require us to disclose information (e.g., serious crimes or child protection issues).
- We are committed to handling your data with care and using secure systems to protect your information.
