We Can Reopen Kings Park Nursery

I love Kings Park Nursery, and I know you do too. It’s a much-loved, historic site that’s mostly unused. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

I want to hear from you. Tell me why Kings Park Nursery matters to you, what you’d like to see happen there, and how Kings Park overall could be improved.

Together, we can make anything possible. Together, we’ve already secured £25.1m from the Labour government to make Pokesdown Station stepfree, to regenerate Boscombe by putting you in the driving seat, not the town hall, and to bring back Sure Start for young children.

Let’s secure more investment for Bournemouth East. Let’s give this special place the backing it deserves and reopen Kings Park Nursery for everyone in our community.

Closed, But Never Forgotten

BCP Council indefinitely closed Kings Park Nursery to the public. It’s wrong and avoidable.

In 2024, the Liberal Democrats and Independents closed our Boscombe nursery with no vision for its future and no plan to improve it. Since then, the site has largely sat unused, despite its enormous potential.

I’ve met the main players and toured the site nine months ago. We need to push Kings Park Nursery up the agenda of BCP Council. We need to put a rocket under this project.

Time For A Plan

The choice before BCP Council is clear: let the site they closed drift without a plan or put the hard work in,develop a vision, work with the people who want to make it better, and bring this much-loved space back into community use.
